Terms

The terms of using Plimsby, in plain words.

This text is a placeholder, and a reviewed version will replace it before launch.

What Plimsby is

Plimsby is a personal project, run by one person. It is a hub at plimsby.com where you keep workspaces in the apps on the platform, Inventory being the first, and sign in once for all of them. It costs nothing, and it is offered as it is.

Your account

An account is for one person. It needs an email address you can read, because that is where a password reset goes, and a password you keep to yourself: anything done while signed in as you is taken as done by you. If you think somebody else has signed in, end their session from the sessions page and change the password.

What you keep in your workspaces stays yours. Plimsby stores it and shows it to you, and does nothing else with it. You can download all of it from your account page whenever you like.

Using it fairly

Use Plimsby for your own things, and within the law. Do not try to get into anybody else’s account or workspaces, to get around the limits it sets, or to overload it, and do not use it to send mail to people who did not ask for it. An account that does may be suspended or closed.

Deleting your account

Deleting the account is real. For fourteen days you can sign in and cancel; after that, the account and every workspace in every app are erased, normally within the hour, and nothing can bring them back. A few things outlast the erasure for a while, such as copies in backups and logs, and a record that the deletion happened is kept on purpose. The privacy page lists each of them and how long it lasts.

No warranty

Plimsby is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It may have faults, it may be unavailable at times, and it may lose data, so keep an export of anything you cannot afford to lose. As far as the law allows, Plimsby is not liable for any loss that comes from using it or from being unable to.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change, and the date below says when they last did. Using Plimsby after a change means accepting the terms as changed; if you do not, you can export everything and delete the account.
